The reason for the change is that I like to tell you something and I don’t want to be busy updating my blogsoftware when a little bug or huge security bug is found. So that is why I look for an automated one, so that I can blog for you.

Pidgin has released version 2.6.1 of their instant messenger.
This version fixes a couple of problems:

• pidgin crashed for some users when they recieved a link which was send with Yahoo IM
• Complications with GTK+ < 2.6.0
• Complications with Windows.

Pidgin is a chat program with which you can chat at the same time with serveral different chat networks.
Pidgin supports the following instant messengers networks:

• AIM;
• ICQ;
• Google Talk;
• Jabber/XMPP;
• MSN Messenger;
• Yahoo;
• Bonjour;
• Gadu-Gadu;
• IRC;
• Novell Groupwise Messenger;

Pidgin is available for Linux, other Unix OS and Windows, for Mac OS X there is Adium!  Pidgin is available in +- 70 languages!

waits on approval of Apple with the release of thier application for the iPhone

They have already released a version of it in New Zealand this Sunday.

Since June this year TomTom has announce to be busy with software and accessoire for the iPhone. So we have to wait and see if it will happen soon.

has released an alpha version of thier 9.10 Karmic Koala distribution this time also a version for netbooks.  The netbook version is a live CD, with this you can test the version before you are going to install it on your netbook . The live CD is optimaized for netbooks with a 10 inch screen. The minimum amount of memory needed is 256 MB RAM and you need an Intel/AMD compatiblel CPU to preform a installation.

KDE has released version 4.3 (Codename: “Caizen”) of thier desktop.

It brings many new features, about 2000 feature requests, and more than 10,000 bug fixes. This is all done in the last six months.  These changes are include the following components:

• The Plasma Desktop Shell, a cutting-edge desktop and panels system that features productivity enhancements and online integration through customizable widgets
